No. 006/70/2005 August 15, 2005 President The Stock Exchange of Thailand 62 Ratchadapisek Road, Klongtoei, BANGKOK 10110 Dear Sir, Re : Report on Operating Performance of 2nd Quarter 2005 Amata Corporation Public Company Limited (Amata) and its subsidiary companies would like to report the net profit of the 2nd quarter 2005 of 404.52 million baht, and that of the six months period 2005 of 624.12 million baht. Below is the comparison of the operating performance of the 2nd quarter and the six months period 2005 with that of 2004 :- Unit : Million Baht Period 2005 2004 Net Profit Increase Net profit of the 2nd quarter 404.52 159.40 245.12 Net profit of the six months period 624.12 387.45 236.67 From the table, the net profit of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 245.12 million baht higher than that of year 2004 or equivalent to an increase of 153.78%, and the net profit of the six months period 2005 is 236.67 million baht higher than that of 2004 or equivalent to an increase of 61.08%. The increase in profit this year is due to the following factors :- 1. Increase of Income from Land Sale Income from land sale of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 1,389.11 million baht. This is an increase of 711.89 million baht or equivalent to 105.12% from the income of land sale of the 2nd quarter 2004 when Amata had the income from land sales of 677.22 million baht. Income from land sale of the six months period 2005 is 2,300.07 million baht. This is an increase of 916.50 million baht or equivalent to 66.24% from the income of the same period 2004 when Amata had the income from land sales of 1,383.57 million baht. 2/2. Decrease......................... - 2 - 2. Decrease of Cost of Sale Cost of land sale of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 717.50 million baht and that of 2004 is 394.81 million baht. When computing the cost and income of land sale, the gross profit of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 48.38% while that of 2004 is 41.70%. The increase of the gross profit of this year is because of the decrease of cost of sale. Cost of land sale of the six months period 2005 is 1,217.25 million baht and that of 2004 is 806.87 million baht. When computing the cost and income of land sale, the gross profit of the six months period 2005 is 47.08% while that of 2004 is 41.68%. The increase of the gross profit of this year is because of the decrease of cost of sale. 3. Increase of Revenue from Utility Supply & Services Revenue from utility supply & services of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 109.30 million baht. When comparing it with that of the same period last year when Amata has the income of 83.93 million baht, an increase of 25.37 million baht or equivalent to 30.23%. Cost of utility supply & services of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 79.12 million baht while that of the same period 2004 is 62.85 million baht. Gross profit of the 2nd quarter 2005 is 27.61% while that of the same period last year 25.12%. In conclusion, Amata not only gains from the increase of income from utility supply & services but also from the decrease of its cost. Revenue from utility supply & services of the six months period 2005 is 211.65 million baht. When comparing it with that of the same period last year when Amata has the income of 160.27 million baht, an increase of 51.38 million baht or equivalent to 32.06%. Cost of utility supply & services of 2005 is 151.89 million baht while that of the same period last year is 121.80 million baht. Gross profit of the six months period 2005 is 28.24% while that of 2004 is 24.00%. In conclusion, Amata not only gains from the increase of income from utility supply & services but also from the decrease of its cost.
